The Sound Pressure League Wiki is the place for MECAHeads to post information about how to make systems as loud as possible. While we'll create a basic framework, it'll be up to YOU to make this thing happen.
For instance, did you know that to get a 3 dB increase in SPL, theoretically you either have to double power to your system or double cone surface area?
Did you know that port turbulence can actually be a GOOD thing?
MECA is the Mobile Electronics Competition Association. We're fun and we're fair, and we love to get loud and sound good! We focus on car audio sports, including Sound Pressure League and Sound Quality League Competitions, our famous Park 'N Pound competition (where we do it from 6 feet away) and Show 'N Shine (because sometimes guys DO like the bling).
MECA's Commissioner is Steve Stern and he is supported by a Rules and Ethics Committee made up of competitors, judges and industry professionals. With members all over the US, Trinidad, Tobago, Panama and other places in the Caribbean, there's something for everyone. Come in and bask in the glow of warm alternators and warm tonality.
