MECA is the Mobile Electronics Competition Association, a club and contest organization.  We have car shows with music, fair and fun contests for people who love cars and trucks and the mobile electronics, and bling, that are used to customize our rides.  Competive car/truck/motorcycle exhibitions with our Show & Shine score sheet are offered at most events.  Our Sound Quality League and Sound Pressure League contests are designed for all levels of competitors, beginner to advanced professional.  Ride the Light specialty lighting contests are great night-time events.  MECA Kids is our bass music contest using powerwheels toys with our MECA Kids operating the audio systems

Join us for our 15th season of car show and sound-off events.  Our 2013 Event/Show Schedule is building now, and most events aren't listed until April or later.  Some events pop up 3-4 weeks before, but we try to get the dates organized and confirmed as soon as we can.

MECA is part of, and serves, the Mobile Electronics, or 12 Volt, Industry.  MECA is an Allied Association of the Consumer Electronics Association www.ce.org and works to promote our Manufacturer and Retail Members with cost-effective, grassroots, partnership/sponsorship programs.

Winning at MECA contests is based on performance in the lanes, not products, politics, or personalities.  Everyone is invited to participate in our club and contest activities.  MECA State Champion credentials earn bragging rights, and our World Champions are recognized among the most accomplished competitors in organized car audio sports.

MECA's Show & Shine contests are designed for all vehicle types:  cars, trucks, motorcycles, powerwheels toys, atv's, and we even judge the tricked out bicycles.

Our 100 point score sheet is easy to understand, for judges and competitors, focusing on the cleanest vehicles with the most attention to detail, especially related to customization, interior and exterior.

For the bigger events, and when the sponsors or organizers recognize the need, we have 30+ optional classes that may be added.  For example, if we know the Scion Club is going to show up, we have specialized classes for them.  If the event is mostly muscle cars, we work to have the fairest breakdown of classes for them.

We present awards that fit the budget of the hosts and sponsors, usually 1st - 3rd places.  We have a Club Participation award for highest attendance, and clubs with a minimum of 3 vehicles in the contest are eligible.  The Best of Show award is presented to the highest scoring vehicle.

Competitive events are not for everyone, but for the dedicated few who like to show the work they've done to their rides, Show & Shine is a fair and fun format.  Check out our rules and let the people in your area, who present events of this type, know that MECA wants to share Show & Shine with all enthusiasts and professional customizers.
